mcs Files

The telescope data files are stored in the subdirectory Mcs. Each file consists of two columns of 35 numbers, the first column is the velocity and the second column is the temperature at that velocity. These are then taken by the main program and overlaid on the model results if an appropriate file exists. The file names here are important as they describe the data in the files. The first section of the file name is the name of the object and should be the same as the entry given in the MODELDATA.DAT file. The second section (separated from the first section by an underscore) is the molecule name (again the same as given in MODELDATA.DAT). The third section in the form $xxyy$ gives the transition, with $xx$ being the upper level and $yy$the lower. For numbers less than 10 a leading zero is used4.23. The final section gives the offset from the central position in the cloud in the form $xxxyyy$ where $xxx$ is the x-coordinate offset and $yyy$ is the y-coordinate offset in arcseconds (again if all positions are not needed leading zeros must be inserted).
