This file is placed in the /tmp directory (and is created if it does not exist) as it can become very large (several megabytes) when used during testing of the program. The actual file name given is stendumpxyz.txt where 'xyz' is the user ID of the person running the program. This enables several people to run sten simultaneously without there being a file name conflict in the /tmp directory. The file contains information on the state of several parameters at the end of each iteration. These data include the level populations, excitation temperatures and also information on which shells and levels converged.
