Although as far as the internal workings of the ASTRA program are concerned there are no differences between a spherically symmetric model and any other model it would still be nice to confirm the general working of the program in a non-symmetric case. Since this is specifically the type of situation that other radiative transfer programs could not cope with there is no way of comparing models in the manner described in the previous sections. However, in the case of optically thin disks there has been at least one attempt at modelling rotating disks which can be used to provide additional confirmation that ASTRA works as intended.
