The approach to the Athabasca galcier. We got to use the satellite phone for the second time here. This time it was to help out an unfortunate couple who had locked their keys in their pickup... There are no phones here during the winter (the Icefields centre is shut) and ofcourse normal mobile phones have no coverage...

For the last section of the journey, we cut across from the Saskatoon crossing to the main north-south highway near Red Deer so that we could approach Calgary from the north as we had to go via the airport to pick up a rental car.

Thanks to the long but slow drive home on the last day (speed limit in Jasper national park is 90km/h) I set a new record for distance on one tank of fuel. This was from the West side of Prince George all the way to Magrath and then in an out of Lethbridge twice before finally filling up after 1310km.
